What reverse recruiting is, and what this guide covers
Pricing, guarantees, and review figures in this guide were checked against provider pages and Trustpilot on October 15, 2026. Terms change often, so confirm them in writing before you sign.
Reverse recruiting, also called a managed job search, means paying a service to run parts of your job search for you. Depending on the provider, that can include finding relevant openings, submitting applications, contacting recruiters and hiring managers, tracking your pipeline, and preparing you for interviews and offers. Traditional recruiters are paid by employers to fill roles. A reverse recruiter is paid by you to represent your search.
The label covers very different services. Some providers submit applications on your behalf every week. Others are coaching and career-management firms that guide your strategy while you do the applying. Pricing models differ just as much: fixed multi-month packages, cancel-anytime monthly fees, and monthly fees combined with a percentage of your salary after you accept a job.
This guide compares five managed reverse recruiting services that handle applications, plus two executive coaching and career-management firms for readers who want guidance rather than delegation. For each one, we separate three kinds of information:
- Published facts: prices and terms shown on the provider’s own pricing, service, or policy pages, linked where they appear.
- Provider-reported claims: statements a company makes about itself, such as team size or staffing location, which we have not audited.
- Our editorial judgments: how we think each service fits different readers. These are opinions, and we label them that way.
No service runs your search without you. Every provider below expects you to approve targets, respond quickly, attend interviews, and keep your information accurate.
Reverse recruiting services at a glance
The biggest difference between these services is how you pay. Fixed packages commit you to a set price for a defined term. Cancel-anytime monthly services bill until you stop. Monthly-plus-success-fee models charge a lower monthly fee and a percentage of salary once you accept a job.
| Provider | Service model and best-fit reader | Published price and payment structure | Who handles applications | Guarantee trigger and remedy | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Career Agents | Fixed package. Pro for mid-career professionals; Executive for director and VP candidates | Pro: $6,993 one time or 7 payments of $999 (7 months). Executive: $14,999 one time or a listed plan of $1,667/month for 9 months. Starter: $999, branding only | Dedicated career agent (Pro and Executive). Starter includes no applications | Pro: no qualifying offer within 7 months of the first application. Choice of a 50% refund of the refundable portion or a free extension of up to six additional months | Installments pay toward the full package. |
| Find My Profession | Monthly, cancel anytime, or monthly plus success fee. Professionals who want a large U.S.-based client-facing team | $3,000/month with no success fee, or $1,500/month plus 8% of first-year salary after accepting a job (qualifying U.S. searches) | Assigned reverse recruiter | Fewer than 5 qualifying interviews and no accepted offer in 4 consecutive service months: continued service with no monthly fee until a milestone, up to 6 more service months | Not a cash refund. Participation rules and an interview-counting limit apply |
| My Personal Recruiter | Monthly subscription. Experienced professionals, directors, and executives | Not published on its pricing page at verification. Contact the provider for current pricing | Provider’s team applies and contacts hiring managers | No written offer after 6 months of active participation: continued service at no extra charge | Subject to terms not detailed on its public pages |
| Top Prospect Careers | Declining monthly retainer, or monthly plus success fee. Executives wanting a founder-led boutique | Standard: $3,000, $2,500, $2,000, then $1,500 per 30 days, no success fee. Performance option: $1,500 per 30 days (2-month minimum) plus 7% of first-year base, capped at $20,000, with monthly payments credited | Small named team of reverse recruiters | None. Its service page states it offers no guarantees | Prices come from the provider’s own October 2026 article, not its service page |
| iCareerSolutions | Monthly with a payment cap. Professionals who want a known maximum fee | $2,995/month, capped at 4 payments ($11,980 maximum). No salary percentage | Dedicated reverse recruiter | Fewer than 5 qualified interviews and no accepted offer after 4 months of active campaigning: continued service with no added monthly fee | No cash refunds. Participation conditions apply |
| Browning Associates | Coaching alternative. Executives who want a coached search | Contact the provider for current pricing | You apply, with coaching and permission-based introductions | Works with you until you accept a new position (its FAQ also references a one-year period) | Not a recruiter and does not guarantee a job |
| The Barrett Group | Coaching alternative. Professionals seeking $150K+ roles | Contact the provider for current pricing | You lead the search with a coaching team | None stated on its homepage | Fee-based; commercial terms not published |
Trustpilot figures appear in each profile below. Company-wide reviews can include resume writing, LinkedIn, and coaching customers, not only managed-search clients, and they are not placement rates.
Managed reverse recruiting services
These five providers submit applications or run outreach on your behalf. Career Agents is our editorial first choice; the others follow in no particular order of quality.
1. Career Agents: Our pick for a structured, agent-led search

Best for: Mid-career professionals (Pro) and director or VP candidates (Executive) who want one dedicated agent running applications and outreach inside a fixed package with a defined term.
Service scope: According to its reverse recruiting page, Pro and Executive clients get:
- A dedicated career agent.
- Resume and LinkedIn development, with three to four role-targeted resume versions and cover letters. Applications receive selective customization rather than a completely new resume each time.
- Generally 5 to 10 applications per business day, depending on search scope and the number of relevant openings. Specialized searches may involve lower volume.
- Targeted outreach to recruiters and hiring managers, a progress-tracking dashboard, interview preparation, and offer and salary negotiation support.
Pricing:
- Starter, $999 one time. A branding package: role-targeted resume versions, LinkedIn optimization, a cover letter template, and a consulting session. It does not include applications and is not a managed job search.
- Pro, $6,993 one time or seven payments of $999. Seven months of managed search support. The seven months begin on the first day applications are submitted, not the payment date. The installments are payments toward the full package, not a cancel-anytime subscription.
- Executive, $14,999 one time, or a payment plan. Nine months of support. The pricing page lists the plan as $1,667 per month for nine months, which totals slightly more than the one-time price. Confirm the exact schedule in your agreement.

Guarantee: Eligible Pro clients who do not receive a qualifying written offer within the seven-month service period can choose either a 50% refund or a free extension of up to six additional months, subject to the applicable agreement. Eligibility rules are set out in the published refund policy. Key details:
- The 50% applies to the refundable reverse recruiting portion of the package. Resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, and branding work are non-refundable once delivered, so this is not 50% of the entire package price.
- A qualifying offer is one that meets the criteria agreed at kickoff, or any offer the client accepts, subject to the agreement.
- Clients must respond promptly (the policy cites three business days), attend scheduled interviews, and keep materials current. Withdrawing before the period ends, or repeated unresponsiveness, can void eligibility.
- Starter carries no guarantee. Executive clients should confirm their trigger and remedy in the Executive agreement rather than assuming Pro terms apply, and any special arrangement is governed by its own agreement.
Strengths: A named point of contact, a clearly documented service scope, a fixed price with a defined term that starts when applications start, and a written remedy that lets eligible clients choose between a partial refund and more service.
Considerations: You commit to the full package up front, even when paying in installments. The refund is partial and conditional. Daily volume varies with your search, so ask what pace to expect for your target roles.
Reviews: 4.8 out of 5 from 47 reviews on Trustpilot, checked October 15, 2026.

Bottom line: Our editorial #1 recommendation for readers who want delegated applications, a dedicated agent, and a package with written terms. This reflects its documented scope and structure, not evidence of higher placement rates or faster results, which no provider publishes in a comparable form.
2. Find My Profession: Monthly flexibility and a large client-facing team

Best for: Professionals who prefer month-to-month billing, or who would rather pay a lower monthly fee plus a success fee.
Service scope: Its reverse recruiting page lists resume, LinkedIn, and cover letter writing; job identification; application management; hiring-manager research; networking outreach; monthly interview coaching; salary negotiation support; and unlimited messaging. The company says its client-facing team is 100% U.S.-based and lists 15 reverse recruiters plus supporting staff. That is a description of the client-facing team, not necessarily everyone who performs every task.
Pricing:
- Fixed-fee option: $3,000 per month, no success fee.
- Success-fee option: $1,500 per month plus 8% of first-year salary, due only after you accept a job, for qualifying U.S. searches. The page does not say whether monthly payments are credited against the success fee, so ask.
- Both options are described as cancel-anytime.

Guarantee: The Find My Profession Promise applies if you receive neither five qualifying interviews nor an accepted offer within four consecutive service months. Eligible clients then receive continued service with no additional monthly fee until a milestone is reached, for up to six additional service months. You must stay continuously enrolled, respond within 48 hours, and join at least two strategy meetings per month. No more than two interviews from the same opportunity count toward the five.
Strengths: Flexible billing, a clearly written interview-milestone promise, and the largest review base in this comparison.
Considerations: The promise is continued service, not a cash refund. The fixed-fee option adds up quickly over a long search.
Reviews: 4.8 out of 5 from 785 reviews on Trustpilot, checked October 15, 2026. The company also sells resume writing, so not all reviews relate to reverse recruiting.
Bottom line: A strong option if you want to avoid a long fixed commitment and value an interview-based milestone.
3. My Personal Recruiter: Senior-focused monthly service

Best for: Experienced professionals, directors, and executives. Its homepage describes clients earning $100K+ and says it works exclusively with senior-level candidates.
Service scope: The company says its team applies to positions and reaches out to hiring managers for clients, with resume and LinkedIn optimization and a dedicated reverse recruiter at each tier.
Pricing: Its pricing page describes tiers “from standard to executive” but did not display prices when we checked. Contact the provider for current pricing.
Guarantee: If you do not receive a written job offer within six months of active participation, it says it will continue service at no additional charge, subject to its terms and conditions.

Strengths: A senior-level focus and a continued-service commitment tied to an offer, not just interviews.
Considerations: Ask for written definitions of “active participation,” what continued service includes, and how billing and cancellation work.
Reviews: 4.4 out of 5 from 17 reviews on Trustpilot, checked October 15, 2026.

Bottom line: Worth a consultation for senior candidates, once you have the price and terms in writing.
4. Top Prospect Careers: Founder-led boutique with declining fees

Best for: Executives who want a small, founder-led team and a fee that declines over time.
Service scope: Its service page lists strategy sessions, resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn updates, weekly job searches and applications, networking with hiring managers and search firms, interview coaching, and salary negotiation coaching. It names two reverse recruiters with HR and executive coaching backgrounds. Its founder, Dan Reed, describes a recruiting and HR background in a company article.
Pricing: That October 2026 article publishes two models:
- Standard retainer: $3,000 for the first 30 days, $2,500 for the second, $2,000 for the third, then $1,500 per 30 days. No success fee.
- Performance-aligned: $1,500 per 30 days with a two-month minimum, plus a success fee of 7% of first-year base salary, capped at $20,000. Monthly payments are credited against the success fee, so the success fee is the total, not an add-on. The article’s example: on a $200,000 base, the total fee is $14,000.
Guarantee: None. The service page states that it does not offer guarantees.
Strengths: Direct access to a small team, and the only declining-fee model in this comparison.
Considerations: No guarantee, and prices are published in an article rather than on the service page. Ask what happens if credited monthly payments ever exceed the success fee.
Reviews: We did not record a Trustpilot rating for this provider during our October 15, 2026 check. Ask the provider for client references.
Bottom line: A good fit for executives who value a boutique relationship and accept that there is no guarantee.
5. iCareerSolutions: A capped flat fee

Best for: Professionals who want a known maximum cost with no salary percentage.
Service scope: Its pricing page lists resume, LinkedIn, and cover letter writing; a dedicated reverse recruiter; preparing, submitting, and following up on applications; mapping hiring managers; outreach; interview prep; salary negotiation support; and a weekly pipeline report.
Pricing: $2,995 per month, capped at four payments, for a maximum of $11,980. Nothing is due when you accept a position.
Guarantee: Under its guarantee terms, eligible clients who have not received five qualified interviews or accepted an offer after four months of active campaigning receive continued service with no additional monthly fee until they reach that milestone. Conditions include a written targeting brief, approvals and responses within about two business days, and staying within the agreed search. One pause of up to 30 days is allowed. Cash refunds and specific titles, salaries, or employers are excluded.
Strengths: The clearest total-cost ceiling among the monthly services.
Considerations: The remedy is tied to interviews or an accepted offer, not to landing a job, so “until you land” style marketing should be read alongside the detailed terms.
Reviews: 4.8 out of 5 from 53 reviews on Trustpilot, checked October 15, 2026.
Bottom line: A practical choice if a firm cost ceiling matters most to you.
Executive coaching and career-management alternatives
These firms do not position themselves as application services. They coach you through a search that you run. Choose this route if you want strategy, accountability, and positioning help more than delegated applications.
Browning Associates

Best for: Executives who want structured one-on-one coaching through a search.
Service scope: Its FAQ describes a career coaching firm with an assigned project manager and one-on-one sessions. It states that it is not a recruiter, and it makes introductions through its network only with permission. It says it never takes fees from hiring companies.
Pricing: Contact the provider for current pricing. The firm says it charges a fee after an evaluation but does not publish amounts.
Support commitment: The FAQ says the firm works with you until you accept a new position. One passage also refers to support until you land “or a period of 1 full year,” so confirm which applies to your agreement. This is support through the agreed search, not open-ended support for future career moves, and the firm states that it cannot guarantee a job.
Bottom line: A coaching-led option for executives who want to stay in control of their applications.
The Barrett Group

Best for: Professionals targeting roles of $150K and above who want a career-management program.
Service scope: Its homepage describes a fee-based career management and executive coaching firm and states, “We are not recruiters.”
Pricing and guarantees: Contact the provider for current pricing. The homepage does not publish fees or a guarantee, and we did not verify its current commercial terms.
Bottom line: Consider it if you want an intensive coached program. Get the fee, scope, and term in writing.
Offering or availability requires confirmation: Free Agency

Earlier versions of this guide listed Free Agency as a tech talent-agent service. When we checked on October 15, 2026, its homepage described a “coming soon” offering with a waitlist, not the job-search representation we previously described. We have removed it from the active comparison until its current service, pricing, and availability can be confirmed.
How to choose a reverse recruiting service
Start with three questions: how involved you want to be, how you prefer to pay, and what protection you need if the search runs long.
Decide between delegation and coaching. If you want someone else submitting applications and running outreach, compare the five managed services. If you want expert guidance while you control every application, look at the coaching alternatives.
Match the payment model to your budget and risk tolerance.
- A fixed package, such as Career Agents Pro, sets your total cost up front and defines the term. It suits readers who want a known price and a committed team, and who are comfortable that an early offer does not reduce the fee.
- A cancel-anytime monthly service, such as Find My Profession’s fixed-fee option, lets you stop at any time. Your total cost rises with every month you stay.
- A capped monthly service, such as iCareerSolutions, combines monthly billing with a maximum total.
- A monthly-plus-success-fee model, such as the success-fee options at Find My Profession and Top Prospect Careers, lowers monthly costs but adds a salary-based fee when you accept a job. Check whether monthly payments are credited against that fee.
Match the service to your level. Several providers separate mid-career and executive tiers. Executive searches often involve fewer, more selective applications and more direct outreach, so judge them by targeting quality rather than raw volume.
Read the guarantee terms, not just the headline. Check the trigger, the remedy, the participation rules, and what is excluded. The next section explains the main types.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Who is my named contact, and who covers for them during absences?
- How often will I receive reports, and what will they show?
- Will I approve target companies and roles before applications go out?
- Will you need access to my email, LinkedIn, or job-board accounts? How is that access secured and removed at the end?
- How do you store and handle my personal data and documents?
- What outreach will you send in my name, and can I review templates first?
- What exactly must I do to stay eligible for the guarantee?
- What happens to fees and the service term if I pause, or if I accept an offer early?
If you were laid off
Before buying individual support, check your separation package. Some employers provide outplacement services, which may already include coaching, resume help, or job-search support at no cost to you.
Reverse recruiter costs and guarantee differences
The sticker price rarely tells you the total cost. What you pay depends on the payment model, any minimum commitment, whether installments are owed after an offer, and whether a success fee applies.
What to add up
- Initial or monthly fees: the fixed package price, or the monthly rate.
- Minimum commitments: for example, Top Prospect Careers’ performance option has a two-month minimum.
- Installment obligations: installments on a fixed package are usually payments toward the full price, not a subscription you can stop.
- Success fees: a percentage of salary due after you accept a job. Ask whether it is based on base salary or total compensation.
- Credits: some success-fee models credit monthly payments against the final fee. Others may not.
- Early offers: ask in writing what you owe if you accept an offer in month two.
Hypothetical total costs
Illustrative calculations, not expected search durations. The table assumes a $150,000 first-year base salary, an accepted offer at the end of the month shown, service ending at that point, and no guarantee remedy applying. Figures use the published prices above.
| Provider and option | Offer after month 3 | Offer after month 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Career Agents Pro (fixed package) | $6,993 | $6,993 |
| Find My Profession, fixed fee | $9,000 | $18,000 |
| Find My Profession, success fee (no credit assumed) | $16,500 | $21,000 |
| Top Prospect Careers, standard retainer | $7,500 | $12,000 |
| Top Prospect Careers, performance option | $10,500 | $10,500 |
| iCareerSolutions | $8,985 | $11,980 (cap reached) |
How the success-fee rows work: Find My Profession’s success-fee option is calculated as monthly fees plus 8% of salary ($12,000), because its page does not state that monthly fees are credited. Top Prospect Careers credits monthly payments, so its total is 7% of base salary ($10,500) in both cases: after month three you would owe $6,000 more at acceptance, and after month six you would owe $1,500 more. Confirm all calculations against your own contract.
Guarantee types are not interchangeable
- Conditional refund: money back, usually partial, if a defined outcome does not happen in time. Career Agents Pro offers a 50% refund of the refundable portion, as one of two choices, when no qualifying offer arrives within seven months.
- No-offer extension: more service at no added cost if you have no offer. Career Agents’ alternative remedy is a free extension of up to six additional months. My Personal Recruiter says it continues service at no extra charge after six months of active participation without a written offer.
- Interview-milestone extension: more service if you have not reached a set number of interviews or an accepted offer. Find My Profession and iCareerSolutions both use five interviews or an accepted offer within four months. Reaching five interviews ends the protection even if you have no job.
- Success-based fees: not a guarantee, but a pricing structure that shifts part of the cost until you accept an offer.
Every remedy above depends on participation rules. Missed interviews, slow responses, or changing your target field can void eligibility.
Should you start reverse recruiting in November or wait until January?
There is no universal answer. Year-end hiring activity varies by employer and industry, and January does not guarantee better results. What matters is whether your provider can run a continuous search through the end of the year, and how the calendar affects your fees and guarantee. Ask these questions before you start in November:
- Staff coverage: Who works on your account during holiday weeks, and who covers if your agent is out?
- Continuity: Will applications and follow-ups continue through late December, or slow down? Ask for the planned pace in writing.
- Urgent interviews and offers: Who helps you prepare for a short-notice interview or respond to an offer deadline during a holiday week?
- The service clock: When does your term begin? At Career Agents it starts on the first application date, not the payment date. Other providers count service months or campaigning months.
- Pauses: If you or the provider pause in December, does billing stop, and does the guarantee clock stop with it? iCareerSolutions, for example, allows one pause of up to 30 days that does not count toward its guarantee period.
- A written year-end plan: Ask for a plan covering what will happen between now and December 31, and how the search transitions into January.
Starting in November gives you time to finish resumes, LinkedIn updates, and targeting before the new year. Waiting can make sense if you will be unavailable for interviews, but make sure a delayed start does not leave you paying for weeks with little activity.
Is reverse recruiting worth the cost?
It can be, but no provider in this comparison publishes outcome data that lets you predict your result. Value depends on whether the service actually shortens your search, improves your offer, or frees time you would use productively.
Illustrative scenario, not a forecast. At a $120,000 annual salary, one additional month of gross earnings is roughly $10,000. A hypothetical $6,000 service would produce a $4,000 gross benefit only if it actually moved your start date forward by one month. If it did not improve your timing or compensation, the financial benefit could be zero while the fee remains payable.
This example does not show that any service causes faster hiring, or what typical results look like. Use it to frame your own decision:
- How long has your search taken so far, and why?
- How many hours a week would you save, and what would you do with them?
- Is your bottleneck volume, targeting, interviewing, or networking? A managed service mainly helps with volume and outreach. A coach may help more with positioning and interviews.
- Can you afford the full fee if the search takes longer than you hope?
A service is easier to justify when it addresses your real bottleneck and when you understand exactly what you will pay under each outcome.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a reverse recruiter cost? Among the managed services here, published pricing ranges from $1,500 per month (with a success fee) to a $14,999 fixed executive package. Monthly services without success fees run $2,995 to $3,000 per month at the start. Some providers do not publish prices.
Do reverse recruiters guarantee a job? No provider here guarantees a job. Some offer a conditional partial refund, continued service after an interview or offer milestone is missed, or no guarantee at all. Read the detailed terms.
Will a reverse recruiter apply to jobs without my approval? It depends on the provider. Ask whether you approve target companies and roles first, and whether you can review outreach sent in your name.
Is a Starter or branding package the same as reverse recruiting? No. Career Agents’ Starter package, for example, covers resumes, LinkedIn, and a cover letter template, but includes no applications.
Are Trustpilot ratings a measure of placement success? No. Ratings reflect customer satisfaction across a company’s services, which may include resume writing and coaching. They are not placement rates.
Do I still have to do anything? Yes. You will need to approve targets, respond quickly, attend interviews, and keep your information accurate. Guarantee eligibility usually depends on it.
How we built this comparison
We started from our previous edition and kept services that publicly describe a managed reverse recruiting or executive job-search offering for U.S. job seekers. On October 15, 2026, we reviewed each provider’s official pricing, service, policy, and guarantee pages, and recorded Trustpilot ratings and review counts where we found a profile.
Commercial terms come from providers’ own pages, linked throughout. Statements a provider makes about itself, such as team size or staffing location, are labeled as provider claims. We did not use one provider’s commentary about a competitor as evidence. We have not purchased these services, audited outcomes, or verified placement rates, and none of the providers publishes outcome data in a comparable form.
Our ranking is an editorial judgment based on service scope, the clarity of pricing and terms, the type of support offered, and the protection available to clients. Career Agents ranks first because of its documented scope, dedicated agent support, fixed package structure, and conditional guarantee, not because of a claimed outcome advantage.
We removed Free Agency from the active list because its current offering could not be confirmed, and we removed older pricing tiers and claims that no longer appear on providers’ pages.
Final thoughts
The right reverse recruiting service is the one whose model fits how you want to search and how you want to pay. If you want a dedicated agent and a fixed package with written terms, Career Agents is our first recommendation. If month-to-month flexibility matters most, Find My Profession is a strong alternative. iCareerSolutions offers the clearest cost ceiling, Top Prospect Careers offers a boutique relationship with a declining fee, and My Personal Recruiter focuses on senior candidates. If you would rather run your own applications with expert guidance, consider Browning Associates or The Barrett Group.
Whichever you choose, get the price, term, guarantee conditions, and your own responsibilities in writing before you pay.
